Five ways to reduce no-shows at your clinic

Every empty slot is lost income and a patient who did not get care. Reminders in the patient's language, a working waitlist and easy rescheduling make a measurable difference.

No-shows cost clinics twice: the slot earns nothing, and the patient misses care they needed. The good news is that a few simple habits reduce them noticeably.

1. Remind at the right time, in the right language

A reminder a day before and another a few hours before works better than one sent a week early. Send it in the language the patient reads, on the channel they agreed to. MargDoc Pro sends reminders only to patients who consented to them.

2. Make rescheduling easy

A patient who cannot come will often just not turn up if cancelling is a hassle. A quick way to move the appointment turns a no-show into a freed slot.

3. Keep a waitlist that actually works

When a slot frees up, offer it to the next patient on the waitlist with a time limit to accept. If they do not answer, the offer moves on automatically.

4. Know who is likely to miss

Some appointments are riskier than others. MargDoc Pro highlights bookings with a higher chance of a no-show so the front desk can call ahead, and it keeps track of how accurate those predictions turn out to be.

5. Measure it

Track no-shows and cancellations week by week and by doctor. What gets measured improves, and the dashboard shows the trend without anyone building a spreadsheet.
